understanding of the project, I am able to get the best out of the craftsmen who work with me. Over the years, I have selected a variety of qualified and reliable craftsmen, a majority of them have been with me for over 13 years."
A licensed architect and interior designer, member of the AIA, ASID and NCIDQ certified, Calcagni has done a great deal of work for celebrities and has designed exclusive Madison Avenue boutiques.
"My building skills and interest in home building were inspired back in Italy by my grandfather who was a
landscape designer and an artist with a construction background," said Calcagni.
His work may take him back to those roots since a wellknown Italian company may enlist his services to design one of its shops in Manhattan.
"One of the advantages of being the builder of my projects, is that when I design a house I am constantly thinking of how I am going to build it, where the furniture can be placed and what the finishes will be. The ability to be in control of the project from start to finish enables me to move quickly and deliver the
projects on time.
I visit each project daily and make it my business to resolve any discrepancy on the spot."
Calcagni says his philosophy is straightforward. He represents a limited number of clients with the goal of providing a personalized, hands-on service that utilizes the skills and cost control procedures of his own staff and a dedicated core of subcontractors.
Loreto Calcagni Associates will soon be moving its offices from Franklin Square to larger quarters in Floral Park.
